Mini-Symposia

Call for mini-symposium proposals

Mini-symposia are sessions on a focused theme, organized and moderated by one or two experts, with 4–6 invited talks in a two-hour session. A second session may be requested for broader themes. Proposals are welcome on any topic within the scope of the conference.

To propose a mini-symposium, email the program chairs, Prof. Leo Fang (xiaohang.fang@ucalgary.ca) and Prof. Luc Bauwens (bauwens@ucalgary.ca), by 4 January 2027 with:

• title of the mini-symposium;
• organizer(s): name, affiliation, email (one or two);
• scope, up to 250 words (printed in the Book of Abstracts);
• planned speakers (4–6) with tentative talk titles;
• number of sessions requested (one or two).

Proposals are reviewed as they arrive. Accepted mini-symposia are added to this page and to the abstract submission form as soon as they are approved; the full list will be published by 31 January 2027.

Speakers in an accepted mini-symposium submit their abstracts through the regular abstract submission form by 31 January 2027 (the same deadline as contributed talks), selecting the mini-symposium from the list. Only speakers invited by the organizers may submit to a mini-symposium. All speakers, including organizers, register as regular participants.
